• Penguins notes and Tuesday's picks

Before we get to the Hradek selections for Tuesday night, here are three things I noticed watching the Coyotes-Penguins game Monday:

First, they're getting some great television pictures out of that new building. I particularly love the low-angle camera that seems to be shooting through bottom of the boards in one end of the rink.

Second, Matt Cooke remains one of the most irritating players in the league. Up 5-0 in the second period, Cooke felt it was a good time to deliver a forearm to the head of Coyotes D-man Keith Yandle. Not surprisingly, the Coyotes didn't appreciate it and spent the rest of the game taking runs at some of the Pens' top players. Coyotes captain Shane Doan exchanged a few good, hard hits with the red-hot Evgeni Malkin and, at the end of the game, Doan gave Cooke a bit of a parting shot. I know Cooke is doing his job, but it's hard to believe he doesn't have more sense.
