I was kicked back late last night (New Jersey standard time) enjoying an entertaining tilt between the Ducks and Oilers in Edmonton. Being a little bit older than I used to be, I really appreciate that I get to watch all kinds of games from all different parts of North America. I wasn't always that way, my younger friends. And I don't think I ever could have imagined watching in HD! It's a far cry from watching on a black and white TV, with the rabbit-ear antenna hanging out an apartment window.
The Ducks-Oilers game featured former Windsor Spitfires teammates Taylor Hall and Cam Fowler. The two rookies both were selected in the 2010 draft. As you know, Hall went No. 1 to Edmonton, while Fowler fell unexpectedly to Anaheim at No. 12. (Boy, I bet there are few teams that wish they could have a do-over on Fowler.)
Earlier in the evening, Bruins rookie Tyler Seguin -- the No. 2 pick last June -- was skating with his team against the Sabres in Boston.
With all that in mind, I figured it was a good time to offer a few quick thoughts on each of the three talented freshmen.
