It was a short weekend for me. On Sunday afternoon, I visited the Yale Whale (otherwise known as the Ingalls Rink) to call the Bulldogs' ECAC showdown against the Dutchmen of Union College for ESPNU. In case you didn't know, Yale came into the game ranked No. 2 in both college hockey polls. I don't suspect their 5-0 win did anything to hurt that status. In fact, the decisive victory might have propelled the Bulldogs into the top spot in the polls, which are released every Monday.

I have to give a Monday 10 shout-out to my broadcast partner, Barry Melrose, and the entire crew that helped an inexperienced play-by-play guy through the afternoon.

Today, I wanted to focus on some less-than-flattering numbers. But I didn't want to just sit here and beat up the Islanders, Devils and some of the league's other weak links. That's too easy, right? Instead, I decided to give you 10 numbers that could be troubling to teams that are at the top of the standings or battling for a playoff spot.

1. The St. Louis Blues' power-play unit hasn't been burning up the league, but it has been particularly impotent on home ice. Davis Payne's team has scored just six PPGs in 55 home-ice chances. That's a 10.9 success rate. If the Blues want to hang on to a playoff spot this season, they'd better get their power play going at Scottrade Center. With 12 of the next 15 at home, the Blues would be wise to get that fixed soon.
