Credit Clemson's work on the 2012 class for giving the Tigers a head start on the 2013 class. Aside from a few top targets still left on Clemson's 2012 board, the Tigers have been focused on high school juniors for weeks. Clemson already has a commitment from Drake Grisham from Birmingham (Ala.) Spain Park. The 5-foot-8, 150-pounder is an intriguing prospect who relies mainly on speed and quickness. He is the younger brother of former Tiger wideout Tyler Grisham, who currently plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Defensive end Davaris McGowens from Taylors (S.C.) Eastside is a key target. The 6-5, 230-pounder is thought to be heavily interested in the Tigers.

The Terrapins rebuilding efforts will rely mainly on local prospects from top high school talent producers. Maryland has already offered three junior prospects from Baltimore Gilman: defensive tackle Henry Poggi, quarterback/defensive back Shane Cockerille and linebacker Micah Kiser. Maryland has also shown strong interest in several prospects from Olney (Md.) Our Lady of Good Counsel: linebacker Dorian O'Daniel and defensive backs Kendall Fuller and Kirk Garner. Defensive lineman Kenny Bigelow from Bear (Del.) Red Lion will also be a top target. Linebacker E.J. Levenberry Jr. from Woodbridge (Va.) Hylton is expected to be one of the top prospects in the nation in 2013. Maryland has some ground to make up on Levenberry, but the Terrapins won't give up easily.

It will be tough for the Tar Heels to put together a top 2012 class with all the shock waves still being felt in Chapel Hill. That means the 2013 class will be key. UNC has a long history of losing in-state talent so keeping junior prospects close to home will be key. Here are some top in-state targets: defensive tackle Greg Gilmore from Hope Mills (N.C.) South View, receiver Marquez North from Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek and quarterback Carlis Parker and Tristan Mumford from Statesville (N.C.) High School.
