The Texas Longhorns continued their impressive 2011 recruiting haul on Friday receiving a commitment from defensive end Cedric Reed (Cleveland, Texas). The 6-foot-5, 235-pound three time all-district selection picked the Longhorns over Texas A&M after also considering LSU, Oklahoma and Nebraska. In all, he had more than 20 offers.Reed becomes the 20th commitment for head coach Mack Brown in the 2011 class, which features a trio of Under Armour All-Americans in defensive tackle Desmond Jackson (Spring, Texas/Westfield), athlete Quandre Diggs (Angleton, Texas/Angelton) and offensive tackle Christian Westerman (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton). Westerman is one of six offensive linemen in the class for Texas, while Reed is the second defensive line prospect.The Longhorns' class features 14 ESPNU 150 Watch List members, including guard prospect Sedrick Flowers (Houston, Texas/North Shore) and linebacker Steve Edmond (Daingerfield, Texas) who, along with Jackson, Westerman and Diggs, will be highly ranked nationally at their positions.
