Junior cornerback
Andrew Johnson (Miami/Southridge) has seen his offer list jump from one to eight in recent weeks after a number of impressive showings playing for the South Florida Express 7-on-7 team and at the Under Armour Combine in Davie, Fla. "Louisville, Nebraska, Wake Forest, Minnesota, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Maryland and FIU have offered," said Johnson. "Wake Forest was the latest to offer me."Along with the offers, the 5-foot-9, 164-pound quick-footed corner is being recruited by the likes of Ole Miss, USC, Alabama, UCF and USF among many others with a number of unofficial visits possible in the coming weeks and months."We have a couple of junior days we are trying to hit. I think Texas Tech, Louisville, Ole Miss, USC and Alabama. We are trying to get things set up," he said.A trip to Lubbock to check out the Red Raiders could be a month away."I've been talking to Coach (Travaris) Robinson and I think he is talking about April 17 or sometime around there for us to come out there," Johnson said. When decision time comes around, location will not be a factor. In fact, the Dade County prospect is looking to experience something new at college."Staying close to home is not an option. Actually, I want to get away from home and I can see myself playing in the Big 12 or out of Florida," Johnson said.
Holliman has Big 12 offersJunior safety
Gerrod Holliman (Miami/Southridge) continues to pick up the offers at a rapid pace. In recent weeks, the 6-0, 188-pounder has gone from zero to five offers with more on the way."My offers are Minnesota, Maryland, Kansas State, Louisville and Nebraska," said Holliman. "Minnesota offered me Friday."The safety with quick reactions and hard-hitting ability is currently in the relationship-building part of the process and has clicked with a pair of college coaches."Right now, I'm talking to Florida the most of the schools that haven't offered me. I have good relationships with coach (Clint) Hurtt at Louisville and coach Drayton at Florida," Holliman said.Holliman, like his teammate and good friend Johnson is in the process of setting up unofficial visits.
