• Under Armour All-American and ESPNU 150 Watch List defensive end Nathan Hughes (Spring, Texas/Klein Oak) picked up an offer from Kansas State last week. The Wildcats are the 16th offer for the 6-foot-6, 263-pounder. LSU, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Arizona, TCU, California, Michigan, Arkansas, Baylor, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Stanford, Houston and Duke have all extended offers.• Offensive lineman Max Lang (Orlando/Boone) has offers from Florida State, South Florida, Texas Tech, South Carolina, Central Florida and Florida International also have offered. Florida State is the team to beat. • Texas Tech and Purdue have offered 2012 quarterback Bennie Coney (Plant City, Fla./Plant City). The 6-3, 205-pounder is one of several Division I prospects in the sophomore class at the rejuvenated Hillsborough County program.• Iowa State has offered junior quarterback Stephen Weatherford (Land'O Lakes, Fla.). The Cyclones join South Florida and East Carolina in offering with Boston College, Vanderbilt and Purdue showing heavy interest. Georgia is also recruiting the 6-3, 205-pound signal caller, who is the young brother of former Florida State quarterback Drew Weatherford. His father played at SMU.• Dallas Skyline had its spring testing last week. ESPNU 150 Watch List linebacker Anthony Wallace clocked a 4.57 at 228-pounds along with a 335 max bench press. Wallace has 21 offers and has attended junior days at Oklahoma and Texas. ESPNU 150 Watch List S/OLB Franklin Shannon clocked a 4.54 at 214-pounds to go with a 305 bench press and 420-squat. Shannon has offers from Oklahoma, Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Arizona and SMU.Rising sophomore Peter Jinkens clocked a blistering 4.45 40-yard dash at 6-1, 210 pounds. He will show up at linebacker, on special teams and possibly even at running back in 2010 for the Raiders. Fellow sophomore, receiver Thomas Johnson< also ran a 4.45 40. The 6-0, 175-pounder is already drawing comparisons to 2010 Under Armour All-American Mike Davis (Dallas/Skyline). He was the starting quarterback at Arlington Oakridge as a sophomore. A third sophomore, Shelton Session, ran the 40 in 4.48 seconds.
