Junior defensive end John Lewis (Spring, Texas/Klein Oak) began this season as an unknown, having transferred into Klein Oak from Clovis West in California. Playing opposite 2011 Under Armour All-American Nathan Hughes (Spring, Texas/Klein Oak), Lewis began to receive attention from college coaches by the end of the season. On Tuesday night, the 6-foot-2, 262-pounder with a quick first step went from a prospect receiving interest from Big 12, C-USA and Mountain West programs to offered by the national champions."Alabama has offered John," said Klein Oak head coach David Smith. "They called me and offered him Tuesday night. They really like his explosion off the ball. He is eating the weight room up right now and is 262 pounds."Lewis, who played in the 245-pound range as a junior, recorded 78 tackles and four sacks on the season.
