Second-base prospect Brett Lawrie, who was traded Monday to the Toronto Blue Jays, has to hope his swing can make up for the deficiencies he has defensively and the multiple reports questioning his work ethic and makeup. The hope here is that a change of scenery helps light a fire under the 20-year-old after the Canadian was dealt to his native country in the trade that sent Shaun Marcum to the Milwaukee Brewers.
