• The Big 12's top NBA prospects

The Big 12 had a fairly weak showing in the 2012 NBA draft -- producing just one lottery pick and three overall first-rounders.

In the past, Kansas, Baylor and Texas have been the main producers of NBA talent, and that continues to be somewhat true this season. In our preseason Top 100, four Big 12 players are in our top 30 and two more are in our top 60. However, after those six are off the board, the depth drops off pretty fast.

I spoke with a number of NBA scouts to get a take on five players they'll be scouting closely in the Big 12 this season. Here's the breakdown:

1. Isaiah Austin, F/C, Fr., Baylor
Top 100 Ranking:
6

Forgive us if you've heard this before. Baylor is landing another long, athletic big man who plays like a guard. He's versatile. He can shoot the rock. He can score from everywhere on the floor. He's a great athlete.

Neither Perry Jones nor Quincy Miller panned out as expected. Both were ranked in the top 10 of our preseason Top 100. Will Austin be any different?
