Manchester City moved back to the top of the table with a 3-0 victory over Liverpool on Monday. Here are five notes on City's decisive victory.

• Manchester City's win was only its third win over Liverpool in their last 18 Premier League meetings dating back to 2003. Prior to today, its other two victories since 2003 were a 3-0 win in August 2010 and a 1-0 win in April 2005 when Kiki Musampa scored a last-minute winner for City.

• Manchester City improved to 10-0-0 with a plus-27 GD at home this season and is unbeaten in its last 20 home Premier League contests. City is the only club in all four English League divisions to have a 100 percent home record this season. The last Premier League team to top City at the Etihad Stadium? Everton, which secured a 2-1 win on Dec. 20, 2010.

• Sergio Agüero scored his 14th goal of the season, moving into a tie for second place with Newcastle's Demba Ba. Ten of Agüero's 14 goals this season have come at home and his 10th-minute goal was just the second score for City in the opening 12 minutes of a match, despite its Premier League-leading 56 goals.

• Liverpool goalkeeper Jose Reina conceded James Milner's penalty kick in the 75th minute and Milner had to like his chances before he took the spot kick. Reina has now conceded goals on 20 of 23 penalty kicks he has faced in EPL.

• Liverpool suffered a rare misstep against the league's best, having been unbeaten in its last nine meetings (6-3-0) against top-four sides from 2010-11 entering today (Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal). Its last loss to one of those four sides was a 3-2 defeat away to Manchester United in September 2010.
