From @LisaHorne: Was 2010 a fluke for the Texas Longhorns, or is this part of a larger downswing?
Texas missing a bowl game under Mack Brown is a fluke. The 2010 team had a leadership void with Colt McCoy and Jordan Shipley moving on to the NFL and then, as Manny Diaz pointed out here a few months ago, there were a lot of quirky things that happened to the defense. And, because of that leadership void in the locker room, everything snowballed and went downhill.
