You're right. It has gotten more wide open in the fallout of the Ohio State scandal, where you have a bunch of key starters suspended for five games and significant questions about whether one of those guys, QB Terrelle Pryor, will play at all for the Buckeyes this year. Not to mention the fact that Jim Tressel is gone, and the impact his departure will have on the team's overall management and preparation, not just on Saturdays but on a day-to-day basis.
Still, I'm not counting out the Ohio State Buckeyes just yet. This is a very talented collection of players and the program has won six Big Ten titles in a row. However, the door is certainly open.
