Lots of questions concerning teams' 2011 outlooks in this week's mailbag:
From @stevekarn: Where will the Auburn Tigers end up in the SEC West and in the national poll by December?
No program lost more from last year's team than Auburn. Not only did the Tigers lose their biggest impact players on both offense and defense in quarterback Cam Newton and defensive tackle Nick Fairley, but they also lost the majority of linemen on both sides of the ball.
In fact, a whopping 35 players who were on the roster the night the Tigers won the BCS title are no longer with the program.
I realize that Gene Chizik's staff has recruited well by all accounts, but I expect the drop-off this year to be significant. The Tigers have to replace not only a couple of great players but also a bunch of good, experienced ones -- Josh Bynes, Zac Etheridge, Lee Ziemba, Darvin Adams, etc.
