• Blackmon the early Biletnikoff favorite

From @SaintBuckeye: Who is the preseason favorite to win the Biletnikoff Award?

The Biletnikoff winner has a good chance to come from the state of Oklahoma. My front-runner is Oklahoma State Cowboys wide receiver Justin Blackmon, who put up jaw-dropping numbers in 2010. He exploded onto the national scene last fall, much in the same way that Michael Crabtree did a few years earlier. Blackmon caught 111 passes for 1,782 yards and 20 TDs. He led the country in receiving yards per game, and did so by gaining nearly 15 yards more than the No. 2 guy. Blackmon also has his QB back, Brandon Weeden, and the entire offensive line also remains intact. The Cowboys should score a ton of points this season.

His biggest competition figures to come from the Oklahoma Sooners' Ryan Broyles, who also racked up spectacular stats: 131 catches, 1,622 yards and 14 TDs. Broyles, too, has his QB back (Landry Jones).

After them, I'd keep an eye on big Alshon Jeffery at South Carolina. He probably won't catch quite as many passes -- Carolina also has a stud running back, Marcus Lattimore, to feed -- but if the Gamecocks win the SEC East, the junior will get plenty of attention.
