• Hampton's deal won't affect Wilfork

Casey Hampton's new three-year, $21.3 million deal should have no impact on the Vince Wilfork negotiations in New England. If Wilfork does get a long-term deal, he should make more than $8 million a year. Hampton has to be elated to get more than $7 million a year rather than the franchise tag, which would have been $7.003 million for one year. Now Hampton knows he has job security.LeFevour should throw: The main problem with the top quarterbacks not working out at the combine is that any team interested in drafting a quarterback is going to have to send every major decision-maker to all of the private workouts. That sometimes is tough. Naturally, Sam Bradford, Jimmy Clausen and probably Colt McCoy can be excused because they weren't completely healthy coming into the combine. It makes sense for Tim Tebow to work on his delivery instead of throwing at the combine. The loser could be Central Michigan's Dan LeFevour if he follows through by not throwing. Even though LeFevour helped himself at the Senior Bowl by throwing, he still needs to try to catch or pass McCoy as the No. 3 quarterback in this draft.
