• Turner erred in calling for onside kick

Perhaps the worst call by Chargers coach Norv Turner during the 17-14 loss to the Jets was his decision to go for a late onside kick, which backfired and gave the Jets good field position for their final drive of the fourth quarter. Had the Chargers kicked away and put the Jets deep in their own territory, New York coach Rex Ryan might not have gone for the fourth-and-1 that iced the game. By going for the onside kick, the Chargers gave the Jets the luxury of going for the fourth-and-1 because if they failed, the Chargers would have still had a long field to drive.Scott, Jets get last laugh: Jets linebacker Bart Scott said after the win that the Jets were extra motivated because several Chargers players were yelling at them before the game, saying the Jets didn't deserve to be in the playoffs. The Jets might not be potent on offense, but they have become a proud team. They showed their motivation by upsetting the Chargers on the road.
