The need for safety Jairus Byrd to go on injured reserve because of a groin injury was a tough break for Byrd and the Bils. Byrd needs surgery, but he was able to collet nine interceptions as a rookie. Going on injured reserve kills his chances of going to the Pro Bowl and also pretty much eliminates the chances of any Bill going to the Pro Bowl. The Bills are expected to be among at least five teams that won't have any players voted to the Pro Bowl. The Chiefs, Lions, Bucs and Seahawks are the four others.No guarantees for Lovie: Bears coach Lovie Smith is owed $11 million over the next two years, but GM Jerry Angelo said money wouldn't determine how the team proceeds. If the Bears do make a coaching change, don't assume they'll go for a high-priced candidate like Bill Cowher or Mike Shanahan. A first-time head coach might be the team's preference. If so, Titans offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger could be at the top of that list.Avoiding Cribbs: One thing is certain -- the Raiders won't aim their kickoffs toward the Browns' Josh Cribbs like the Chiefs did in Week 15.
