It was easy to figure Larry Johnson wasn't going to be claimed on waivers. No team wanted to pay his $2.1 million remaining salary, knowing that the Chiefs were on the line for it because his contract was guaranteed. According to a source, eight to nine teams spent Monday and Tuesday morning evaluating what to do with Johnson once he became a free agent. Two of those teams -- the 49ers and Bears -- didn't have time to do anything because they play on Thursday night. The Redskins make sense, but they may not be ready to do something this week. The Texans also might consider him, but they are on a bye week.Harris update: Don't expect Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris to be suspended for his hit on the Cardinals' Deuce Lutui in Week 9. According to a league source, the incident wasn't serious enough to warrant a ruling on his eligibility for Thursday's game. His fine -- which could be substantial -- will be announced on Friday.Vick still has a lot to prove: It's interesting listening to Michael Vick angle for starting jobs for 2010. Although his move to the Eagles has to be considered a success because he has re-established himself as an NFL player, he hasn't shown enough yet to indicate he's ready to compete for a starting job any time soon. The Eagles are expected to release him at the end of the season, but he can thank them for letting him get back into the mainstream of the league.
