Jeremy Hill swaps jerseys with Jarvis Landry, sports 'too much sauce' message

CINCINNATI -- It's a common sight to see NFL players swapping jerseys after games.

It's often a sign of respect between two players at the top of their positions. In the case of Bengals running back Jeremy Hill and Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry, it was two lifelong friends taking a moment to appreciate how far they've come.

The two exchanged jerseys on the field following the Bengals' 22-7 win against the Dolphins on Thursday.

Hill and Landry were teammates at LSU, but their bond goes deeper than that. Both Louisiana natives, they were part of LSU's initial 2011 recruiting class and called themselves "The Fam," a group that included Cowboys offensive lineman La’el Collins. All three are starters in the NFL.

"I wouldn't even call him a teammate, he's more like a brother to me. I've been knowing him since he was 14 and our relationship dates back to high school. It was great to swap jerseys but sad to see him being on the wrong end of the (score) and I'm sure he'd feel the same way otherwise."

Of course, Hill couldn't have have felt too bad. He currently ranks 12th in the NFL in rushing yards and tied for fifth in touchdowns, while Landry is third in receiving yards.

Hill rushed for 71 yards against Miami while sporting a nose strip that said "too much sauce," a reference to the song by rapper Future.

Hill colored in his nose strip with white-out and wrote the words in black to go along with their black and white uniforms they sported on Thursday.

"I was just trying to go with the theme of the night with the Color Rush and the whiteout," he said.
