• LB Steven Daniels thinking things over

Linebacker Steven Daniels committed to Boston College last December, and signed his National Letter of Intent in February. He is currently playing prep school football for Worcester (Mass.) Academy, and having some second thoughts about his college choice."I'm committed right now, but I'm not sure," Daniels said after Worcester Academy opened its season by beating Phillips Exeter Academy 40-27 Saturday. "I don't know if I can be this far from home. My mom wants me 10 hours at best from home (by car), and this is like 16. I'm going to talk to my coach about all that, but right now I'm solid to BC."Daniels played high school football at Cincinnati's St. Xavier High School, the same school that sent linebacker Luke Kuechly to Boston College. Daniels, who was ranked as the No. 21 inside linebacker in the country his senior season, recorded 82 tackles (14 for loss) and seven sacks as a junior, and made 34 tackles for loss and 18 sacks during his final year. Daniels, who enrolled at Worcester Academy for academic reasons, said his decision came down to two schools: BC and Texas A&M."It was neck and neck, then Coach Spaz [BC coach Frank Spaziani] showed up at my house and won me over," Daniels said. "I'm just homesick."Bower adds offer
Junior defensive end Tashawn Bower (Kenilworth, N.J./Immaculata) picked up an offer from Maryland on Monday night. Bower has 11 offers. The others are from Connecticut, Florida State, Ohio State, Purdue, Rutgers, Syracuse, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
