Running back
Dalton Crossan (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North) has plenty of options. He has five offers to play Division I lacrosse, and five more to play Division I football. He said he'd prefer to play football in college, but has scheduled a visit to Michigan, one of the schools that has offered him for lacrosse, later this month."It's not 100 percent, but I'm pretty sure I'd like to play football," Crossan said. "It's always been the sport I liked more. I think playing two Division I sports along with school would be tough."Syracuse and Buffalo are the FBS schools that have offered him for football. He also has offers from Fordham, Stony Brook and Pennsylvania.Crossan, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound senior, said Delaware, Villanova, Connecticut and Rutgers are among the schools that have requested some senior film."I'm hoping once I get that film out to them they will offer too," Crossan said. "Most schools are recruiting me as a running back, but some schools, like Syracuse and UConn, like me as a kick returner/slot receiver. I think I'd rather play running back, but whatever's the best opportunity."Although Crossan said Syracuse and Buffalo are the two offers that stand out at this point, he stressed that playing time will likely be a bigger factor in his final decision than the opportunity to play at the FBS level."I definitely want to touch the ball a lot," he said. "A lot will depend on how soon I'll play at those bigger schools. I don't have a clear favorite yet."I'll wait until I have all my offers, then I'll make a decision probably toward the end of the season. I don't want to wait until signing day. It all depends on what other offers may be out there."
