Running back Jerickson Fedrick (Salem, N.H./Salem) still hasn't received a scholarship offer, but he's doing what he can to change that.Fedrick scored six touchdowns -- two on kickoff returns -- to help his Salem team defeat Manchester Central 50-30 Friday night. Fedrick, a senior, rushed for 141 yards on 19 carries and added 37 receiving yards. His kickoff returns covered 98 and 99 yards."I just have to be patient and show that I can play," Fedrick said.Fedrick has been communicating with five schools -- Boston College, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island -- since last spring."It would be nice to have an offer, especially from [New Hampshire], but I didn't go to their [one-day camp], so that probably hurt me a lot," Fedrick said. "I don't think they've seen enough to offer yet."Fedrick is also a standout in track and field. As a junior he ran the fastest 55 meters (6.39 seconds) in New England. He attended football camps at BC, Fordham and East Carolina last summer."I know BC is very intrigued," Salem coach Jack Gati said. "That's the word they used."Fedrick entered his senior season with 2,767 yards rushing and said each school is recruiting him as an athlete."The position doesn't matter to me," he said. "I'll play anywhere. The first school that does give me an offer is going to be one of my favorites."NotesESPNU 150 quarterback Chad Kelly (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute) rebounded from last week's subpar performance in a loss to Rochester Aquinas to throw five touchdown passes during a 47-32 victory over Monsignor Farrell. Kelly, who has committed to Clemson, completed 15 of 22 passes for 257 yards, and also rushed for 77 yards.Despite having four Division I recruits on its roster, Catholic Memorial (West Roxbury, Mass.) failed to score in its opener, a 24-0 loss to Marshfield. Linebacker Camren Williams (Penn State), cornerback Armani Reeves (Penn State), quarterback A.J. Doyle (N.C. State) and cornerback Donovan Henry (Boston College) are the committed players on the Catholic Memorial roster.Three-star linebacker Jazzmar Clax (Neptune, N.J./Neptune) sat out his team's opener against Bishop Ahr on Friday. Clax, who has scholarship offers from Arizona State, Minnesota, Rutgers and Temple, has not been cleared to play since he transferred from Freehold to Neptune in June.Class of 2013 defensive tackle Greg Webb (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek) made six tackles, forced two fumbles (recovered one) and recorded a sack as Timber Creek opened its season with a 19-0 victory over Cumberland. Connecticut, Rutgers and Syracuse are among Webb's seven scholarship offers.
