Three-star offensive lineman Ryan Brodie (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch) is still interested in the University of Miami, despite the recent allegations against the school's football program.Brodie's latest offer came from the Hurricanes earlier this month, shortly after he received offers from Minnesota and Illinois."I think I'm up to 16 offers right now," said Brodie. "I'm gonna start to narrow things down. I'll be taking my officials during the season, but nothing is set in stone right now."Brodie said he plans to take official visits to Miami, Purdue and South Carolina, and hopes to have at least those three visits scheduled by Sept. 1. Boston College, Connecticut and Rutgers are among his other offers. "I bonded well with the coaching staffs [at Miami, Purdue and South Carolina]," he said. "There are a few other schools I'd like to check out. I'd love to go check UConn out. I like the school. I like the area, and I talk to their coaches a lot."Miami, like most schools, is recruiting Brodie to play offensive tackle. Connecticut and Purdue are among the schools that like him on the defensive side of the ball as well. Brodie, who didn't begin playing organized football until he was a sophomore, also plays defensive end in high school."Purdue liked me on defense, but said I could play offense too," said Brodie. "UConn said I could play both."I like defense and if I had to play defensive end I would do it, but if I had a choice I'd play offense. I would like to play left tackle."Brodie hasn't set a date for making his decision."Nah, right now I'm not sure about that," he said.
