There's not much left to look at on
Malik Golden's recruiting calendar.Golden (Newington, Conn./Cheshire Academy) said he plans to visit Penn State on Friday, and will likely make his decision before Aug. 17, when Cheshire Academy will begin practicing for the 2011 season.Boston College, Connecticut and Iowa are the other schools Golden is considering. Iowa was the first of the four to extend a scholarship offer."Penn State is the only place I haven't taken an unofficial visit to," Golden said. "Since I haven't been there I can't really tell you an order the schools are in. There's no leader. I actually don't know [which school he'll select] at this point."Golden has been recruited primarily as a receiver, but Penn State also likes him as a defensive back. He said the possibility of playing offense at Penn State will be one of the topics discussed during his visit this weekend."Hopefully they'll give me a shot on offense," he said. "I wouldn't be surprised if they did. That's something we're gonna talk about."Golden is friends with Masuk High School quarterback
Casey Cochran, who recently committed to Connecticut. Cochran is ESPNU's top-rated recruit from Connecticut in the Class of 2012.Golden, who visited Connecticut three times this summer, said location will be a factor in his decision, but it won't be the primary one."They're all good academic schools," he said. "I'll know more once I leave Penn State. I'll have a pretty good idea at that point."
