• Kye Morgan hurries to accept UVa offer

Kye Morgan (Somerset, N.J./Frankin) said he felt like he couldn't afford to wait any longer. That's why he committed to Virginia on Thursday."I didn't want to miss out," Morgan said. "Their recruiting class was filling up quick. They didn't want me to feel pressured, but they kept reminding me whenever someone committed. I guess you could say they were keeping me updated."Morgan, a two-star athlete, is expected to play running back at Virginia. He became the school's 20th commitment from the Class of 2012.Morgan also had offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Illinois, Temple and Towson. He said Rutgers and Virginia were at the top of his list until Rutgers pulled back on its scholarship offer."I had an offer [from Rutgers] until they got a commitment from someone else in my group," Morgan said. "I didn't want that to happen again. I didn't want to miss out. Everybody commits so early now."Morgan rushed for 1,033 yards and 17 touchdowns on 169 carries last season. He also caught 14 passes for 288 yards and four TDs. He visited Virginia last month."I enjoyed it when I went to visit down there," he said. "I like the campus and staff. Coach [Mike] London is an exciting guy to be around. I enjoyed being around the team."They said I could get a little bit of playing time early. I'm happy with my decision. I think I'm gonna be part of something special."Carroo set to announce
Three-star wide receiver Leonte Carroo (Ramsey, N.J./Don Bosco) is scheduled to make his college decision Saturday at 9 a.m. Carroo said he's considering Boston College, California, Rutgers and Wisconsin.If Carroo selects Rutgers, he will be reunited with former Don Bosco quarterback Gary Nova.Carroo had an injury-plagued sophomore season, but caught 39 passes for 926 yards and 14 touchdown as a junior.
