It has become clear that 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end
Garrett Sickels (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Regional) will be one of the top recruits from the Northeast in the class of 2013.Tennessee became the latest school to extend a verbal offer when Sickels met with the Vols staff on Monday.'It was actually my second time down there," Sickels said. "My sister is transferring there so I visited Tennessee for her orientation. I had to go back down because the coaches were on vacation during her orientation."Sickels picked up an offer from Central Florida last week. His other offers are from Florida, Georgia and Rutgers."It's very humbling to have these offers right now," he said. "Rutgers was the first to offer. It's close to home and I love it up there."Sickels said most schools see him as someone with the ability to rush the passer. Most schools are looking at him as a defensive end, but he said Georgia is recruiting him to play outside linebacker."The position all depends on the school," Sickels said. "I guess they see me as a versatile pass rusher."Sickels said West Virginia is among the schools that he hears from frequently. That list includes Boston College, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Miami, Penn State, Virginia and Wisconsin."I've been talking to West Virginia a lot," he said. "They watched my film and said they liked what they saw. I do have interest in Boston College, but I haven't had a chance to talk to the coaches yet. I know it's a good academic school. "Right now I'm enjoying the whole process, taking things in. About the only question I've thought a lot about is when I want to pick a school. I do want to make my decision before my senior season ends."
