Rutgers appears to be the school next in line for three-star defensive tackle
Jamil Pollard (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford), who committed to Penn State in April but had his scholarship offer pulled back this month because of academics."I lost my scholarship because my grades fell the last quarter," Pollard explained. "They said they might reoffer if I get my grades back up. It's easily something I can handle, so they're still in the picture."Pollard said he's also talking to Boston College and Rutgers now, and Rutgers has a slight edge only because it's no more than a one-hour drive from his home."I've been to Rutgers a lot for games and camps and I've been talking to them since I was a freshman," Pollard said. "They called my dad and my coach after what happened with Penn State. I haven't been to BC. Hopefully I can get up there soon to check out the school."Pollard, who also plays offensive tackle, said he'd prefer to play defense in college. His other verbal offers are from Alabama, Florida, Iowa and North Carolina."Right now I'm just focused on my high school [season]," Pollard said. "I'll know more when I get back to school and start working on my grades."
