Three-star linebacker Michael Strizak (Fair Lawn, N.J./Don Bosco) said he was uncertain about his academic future when he put his head on the pillow Sunday night, but was sure he wanted to attend Boston College shortly after he woke up Monday morning.Strizak proved that the pipeline from Don Bosco to BC is still in place by committing to BC on Monday, the deadline the school imposed for his decision. Strizak had narrowed his choices to BC, Connecticut and Rutgers."Yeah, I had a deadline because there are other linebackers they're looking at," Strizak said. "I took right up until Monday morning to decide."First of all the decision was based on education. Everyone I spoke to said you'll get an amazing diploma that you can use to your benefit."Current BC linebacker Steele Devitto and former BC running back/linebacker Brian Toal -- son of Don Bosco coach Greg Toal -- were among the people Strizak consulted about attending BC. He also made a trip to BC last Thursday.Strizak will play defensive end for Don Bosco this fall, but will shift to linebacker in college. He recorded 12 tackles for loss and nine sacks as a junior."They haven't expressed if I'll play inside or outside," he said. "I'm guessing I'll redshirt because they have a pretty strong linebacker corps right now."I went up there last Thursday by myself because I needed to get around the players. After weighing out everything, it came down to, 'What do I want on my diploma?'"Carroo sets decision date
Three-star wide receiver Leonte Carroo (Ramsey, N.J./Don Bosco) said he will announce his college decision on Aug. 6.Carroo is considering four schools: BC, California, Rutgers and Wisconsin.Carroo made 47 receptions for 1,113 yards and 18 touchdowns during his junior season.
