Linebacker Michael Strizak (Fair Lawn, N.J./Don Bosco) has trimmed his list of schools to Boston College, Connecticut and Rutgers.Strizak said the schools are in no particular order, and that his interest in Rutgers could increase if some of his high school teammates commit to play there. ESPNU 150 defensive tackle Darius Hamilton, four-star defensive back Elijah Shumate and three-star wide receiver Leonte Carroo are among the Don Bosco players who have offers from Rutgers. "I do want to wait for the commitments of a few of my teammates," he said. "If some of my teammates committed [to Rutgers] it could turn into a New Jersey pride type of thing."Strizak visited with Connecticut coach Paul Pasqualoni on Friday. Don Bosco offensive lineman Tyler Samra -- Strizak's best friend -- already has committed to Connecticut.Strizak attended the Boston College camp with many of his teammates last month. Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly played at Don Bosco. Former Don Bosco running back/linebacker Brian Toal -- the son of Don Bosco coach Greg Toal -- also played for Boston College. Here's what Strizak had to say about each of the three schools he's still considering:Boston College: "BC is a lot like Don Bosco with the work ethic. It's a good area for colleges. The education stands out."Connecticut: "The facilities and the coaches stand out at Connecticut. Coach [George] DeLeone [UConn's offensive coordinator} and Coach Pasqualoni -- you can't ask for better coaching than that. Coach Pasqualoni is possibly the best defensive coordinator in the NCAA right now. It's hard to turn down that type of coaching." Rutgers: "The education and the coach-player relationship is what stands out about Rutgers. The location [being close to home] isn't really too big of a deal. Like I said, I'll have to wait and see what some of my teammates do."Strizak, who has 15 scholarship offers, said he doesn't expect to make a decision until late August or early September."UConn and Rutgers both told me to take my time," he said. "BC was, 'We want the best players to commit as early as possible.'"I'm in no rush."
