Chad Kelly (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute) said Tuesday that he planned to announce his college choice during a press conference Thursday, but St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute athletic director Pete Schneider said the press conference could be pushed back a few days."Right now I'm still waiting to hear from Chad to see if he's made his decision," Schneider said Wednesday afternoon. "He was visiting a couple schools this week and then he has exams, so I would say things are tentative right now."Kelly is expected to choose from one of these seven schools: Alabama, Buffalo, Clemson, Florida State, Michigan State, Purdue and Syracuse. He visited Alabama on Tuesday, and was scheduled to be at Clemson on Wednesday. St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute coach Dennis Gilbert said that as of Tuesday night Kelly was not 100 percent certain about his decision.
More offers for JonesAlthough running back
Nigel Jones (Absecon, N.J./Holy Spirit) missed most of last season with a high ankle sprain, his list of verbal offers continues to grow.Jones said that list increased to six after Miami (Ohio) extended an offer last week. His other offers are from James Madison, Old Dominion, Rutgers, Temple and Western Michigan."I'm gonna work harder to get more [offers], but I'm happy with what I have," Jones said. Boston College, Connecticut, East Carolina, Maryland and Syracuse all visited Holy Spirit last month. Villanova has shown strong interest as well."They all loved my film from my junior year, but they want to see what I can do my senior year when I'm 100 percent healthy," Jones said. "Maryland wants me to come to their camp on [June 21] and I may leave there with an offer. I'd like Maryland to offer because it's a big school in a big conference."Jones, who rushed for more than 1,000 yards during his freshman and sophomore seasons, ran for 824 yards and seven touchdowns in six games last fall. Jones took an unofficial visit to James Madison last week and said that visit changed his perspective on FCS schools."When I compare [James Madison] to Rutgers the facilities are the same," Jones said. "I know a couple of guys who play there [James Madison] and the stories you hear about their fans are ridiculous. It's definitely a unique place."I'm waiting to see if any bigger schools offer, but if I ended up at James Madison I wouldn't be disappointed."
