Michael Strizak (Fair Lawn, N.J./Don Bosco) isn't sure where he'll end up playing college football. What he does know is which schools are pursuing him the hardest."You can tell in your conversations what schools want you on the field," he said. "In my case it's definitely Rutgers, definitely Boston College and definitely UConn. [North Carolina] was, but they've backed down a little bit."Those four are among the schools that have extended scholarship offers to Strizak, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound junior who is being recruited to play either outside linebacker or defensive end. Maryland, Pittsburgh, Illinois and Villanova have also offered.Strizak said he also hears from Michigan, Michigan State, Oregon and Miami frequently. He will attend the Boston College camp with many of his Don Bosco teammates next week. He said he also plans to take unofficial visits to Connecticut, North Carolina, Miami and Michigan State.Strizak said he has a strong desire to learn more about the Connecticut program. Don Bosco offensive lineman Tyler Samra, one of Strizak's best friends, committed to Connecticut earlier this year."I've never been on campus, but all I hear about is the facilities and that they have top-notch coaching," Strizak said. "Even though I've been to Boston College it was for a camp, so I'm not too sure just yet what I'll be getting into if I go there. I still need a player's point of view on what their days are like."You can't beat Boston for a college town, but I still have to do a little more research."Rutgers remains a possibility, but Strizak said he wants to see how many of his teammates choose to play there."I'd like to get away, but you have to balance that against the advantages of not being so distant from your family," he said. "I'll have to see how many of my teammates stay in-state. We've talked about all going there, but that's getting harder to do with all of the offers some of the guys are getting."Strizak, who wants to be a chiropractor, said he'll likely commit to a school sometime during his senior season."It'll probably be midseason, just because I don't want to get caught up in a numbers game," he said. "You don't want to lose that scholarship to a place you really want to go because other kids have committed before you."Right now I'm weighing everybody out and seeing what everybody has to offer."
