Tulane broke the ice last week, when it became the first school to extend a scholarship offer to offensive lineman John Ferranto (Burlington, N.J./Burlington Township). He added an offer from Temple to his list Monday."Things are starting to pick up a bit," Ferranto said. "I didn't have a lot of contact with Tulane, but they came in during the spring evaluation. I went to Temple's camp on Sunday. I guess I did well enough for them to make an offer to me."I definitely have to do some research on Tulane. Temple is about 35 minutes from my house, so I know a little bit more about them."Ferranto, a junior, has played primarily defensive end in high school, but is being recruited as an offensive tackle.Like many recruits, Ferranto will know much more about his college options at the end of June. He'll attend a camp at Pittsburgh this weekend, and is scheduled to attend camps at Duke, North Carolina, Villanova, Connecticut and Boston College in June as well. He has already visited Boston College and Connecticut."The rest of the camps are at schools that came to my school during spring evaluation and expressed some interest," Ferranto said. "Now I just have to show I can play in their program."It all depends on how I do at these camps. This is a crucial month for me."Kelly schedules two visitsESPNU 150 Watch List quarterback Chad Kelly (Buffalo, N.Y./Saint Joseph's Collegiate Institute) recently trimmed his list of potential landing spots to seven schools: Alabama, Buffalo, Clemson, Florida State, Michigan State, Purdue and Syracuse. He said he will visit Alabama on June 13-14, and then visit Clemson on June 14-15.
