In a perfect world offensive tackle Ray Korang (Mt. Holly, N.J./Rancocas Valley) would have a pile of scholarship offers as tall as he is.His height (6-foot-8) and weight (294 pounds) may be Korang's biggest assets. He has received offers from Temple and Louisville, and said he's hoping a summer on the camp circuit will lead to more interest."The problem is where I'm at we don't get out of school until June 21 and most of the camps are on or before school is out," Korang said. "I'll probably go to six camps or visits this summer. I'm planning on going to the Temple camp, the Rutgers Big-Man Camp and I'll probably go to Notre Dame. I'm not sure about the other three."I'm gonna sit down with my parents and my coach next week and figure out where else I'll be visiting or going to camp."Korang has already been to Connecticut and Syracuse this spring. He also attended one of Temple's spring practices. He said he has enough interest in Louisville that he'll probably work a visit to that school into his schedule sometime soon."I'm interested in both of the schools that have offered, but I'm not going to praise either one of them yet," Korang said. "I just don't know enough about them at this point."I haven't heard from UConn much, but I'm still talking to Syracuse. BC visited the school, but I haven't talked to their coaches at all."Korang sharpens his skills by going up against defensive lineman Dom Twitty regularly in practice. Twitty has offers from Syracuse and Temple, and will be attending the Rutgers Big-Man Camp with Korang."We had about 15 schools come in and talk to us the last few weeks," Korang said. "Pittsburgh came out twice. I'm hoping to get offers from Duke and Wisconsin. Most of the schools say I have great film, great size and they want to see more of me."Korang said he hopes to commit to a school before he begins his senior year."That's my plan," he said. "That way I won't have to worry about it during the season."
