Offensive lineman
Ryan Brodie (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch) has received 10 verbal scholarship offers, but if he likes one school more than the others he's not tipping his hand."Every school right now is basically at that same level," he said after Virginia made an offer Wednesday. "All the schools have things that I like about them. I had met with [Virginia] last year, but then they fell off the radar a little bit."Brodie, a junior, said he visited Virginia on June 5 for a junior day. He also has offers from Boston College, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Purdue, Rutgers, South Carolina, Temple and Tulane. He has already visited Rutgers, Connecticut and BC.Brodie, who didn't begin playing football until he was a sophomore, said he wants to study dentistry in college."It's just something I have an interest in," he said. "I can see myself doing that and being happy."Brodie said Wisconsin, North Carolina, Miami and N.C. State are some of the other schools he's been communicating with that might be close to making an offer. He said he plans to begin narrowing his list of schools this summer."I'll probably get it to a top five," he said. "I think before the [2011] season ends I'll know where I'll be at."I'm happy with the overall situation. Play football and go to school for free -- that's what it's all about."
