Quarterback
Chad Kelly (Buffalo, N.Y./St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute) isn't lacking options. His list of verbal scholarship offers grew to 13 Friday when Connecticut became the latest school to offer."I'm definitely interested in Connecticut," Kelly said. "It's a great academic school with a new coaching staff."Alabama, Clemson, Florida State and Michigan State are among the schools that have extended an offer to Kelly. He also has offers from three schools in the Northeast: Buffalo, Rutgers and Syracuse."Rutgers is definitely still in the picture," he said. "I'm trying to plan a visit to Syracuse next week, and a trip to Alabama in June. I'm interested in a lot of schools down south."Kelly passed for 2,159 yards and 24 touchdowns last season, when he also rushed for 1,059 yards and 15 TDs. He is the only high school player from New York who has rushed for more than 1,000 yards and passed for more 2,000 yards in the same season.Tennessee, North Carolina, Maryland, Syracuse and Michigan were among the schools that sent representatives to Kelly's high school last week. Tennessee visited Thursday and Kelly said he thought he might land a Tennessee offer last Friday."They definitely seemed interested," he said. "Hopefully we'll be hearing back from them. If they offer I'll go down and check them out. If I get an offer from South Carolina that's another school I'll check out right away too."Kelly attended Clemson's spring game earlier this month and said right now Clemson is one of the schools that he's seriously considering."It was a wonderful visit," he said. "I had a great time down there. I don't have a top 10 or a top five yet, but they're up there. I'm still trying to find out who's interested in me. I'll just keep taking visits and hopefully make the right choice."
