ESPNU 150 Watch List linebacker
Kaiwan Lewis (Hammonton, N.J./St. Joseph) has nothing to complain about when it comes to his recruiting situation because he has so many verbal scholarship offers he appears to have lost count.Auburn, Stanford and Purdue are the schools that extended the most recent offers. The Purdue offer came Friday."I think I'm at 26," Lewis said. "I'm still open to any school."I plan on visiting Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Tennessee and South Carolina, probably in July."It will be his second trip to South Carolina. He has also been to Virginia and Rutgers, which was the school that gave him his first offer. Lewis said that Rutgers has not been ruled out."It depends on how my recruitment goes with them," he said. "Virginia, South Carolina and Rutgers are all great schools, and in great areas. Rutgers is close to home and I have family in South Carolina."Boston College, Connecticut and Syracuse are among the other schools that have offered Lewis, who said most schools are recruiting him to play inside or outside linebacker. Purdue discussed the possibility of playing defensive end."At Purdue, defensive end and outside linebacker is kind of a hybrid position," he said.Lewis said he plans to narrow his list to eight schools by June, but has no timetable for making a commitment."It doesn't matter if it's before the season or after," he said. "Just when I'm comfortable."
Interest in Fedrick increasesRunning back
Jerickson Fedrick (Salem, N.H./Salem) has yet to receive his first offer, but said Syracuse, SMU and Iowa have contacted him recently."Iowa called my coach to request film, I've been getting emails from SMU and Syracuse invited me to their camp," Fedrick said. "All of this happened within the last three weeks. It was exciting."Fedrick attended the Connecticut spring game and was asked to attend a camp there. He also plans on attending camps at Boston College and Syracuse."I have to do these things if I want to play college football," he said. "I just have to perform. Hopefully good things will come if they see me."
