Ty Lawson finally took a step toward getting himself going for the Nuggets, finishing with 32 points on 12-for-16 shooting, including five 3-pointers, and added seven assists and five steals against the Hawks. He's been a disappointment so far this season, but he's got top-flight potential in fantasy, as we saw last season, and if you had him on your bench at any point, he doesn't belong there any longer. If you were looking to trade for him (and you probably should have been if you weren't), that window most likely closed in a hurry.
Looking Back
• Gerald Henderson got his first significant playing time for the Bobcats since coming back from injury, and managed 18 points and six rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench. It would appear that he again will be a big part of the Bobcats' rotation moving forward, and in deep leagues he certainly should be a part of yours, as well.
• Jason Terry played 38 minutes for the Celtics against the Timberwolves even with Rajon Rondo back in the lineup. For now, Terry should continue getting the bulk of the shooting guard minutes in the rotation, and because he's averaging 15.5 points and two 3-pointers in his past four games, he's certainly worth having in your lineup.
• In his first three games with the Raptors, Mickael Pietrus has been playing more than 30 minutes per contest, and as always, he can be a decent source of 3s, but little else. He had 21 points in 40 minutes in a loss to the Kings Wednesday night, but I wouldn't expect that kind of production moving forward. In the case of a guy who has been around as long as Pietrus has, there probably isn't much risk of him turning into a superstar overnight.
• His scoring still has a ways to go, but Lamar Odom had 11 rebounds off the bench for the Clippers against the Mavericks, and seems to be slightly more engaged in the proceedings with each game. If he can find even half of the sort of game he flashed during his last good season with the Lakers, he's going to be an important fantasy option at some point this season.
Looking Ahead
• The Heat most likely will be without a pair of point guards, Norris Cole and Mario Chalmers, against the Knicks on Thursday night. That could mean more action for Mike Miller, who hit three 3s and scored 11 points off the bench in a loss Tuesday night to the Wizards. If you need 3s, if might be a good idea to get Miller into your lineup.
• Meanwhile, Carmelo Anthony had trouble with his touch in the second half of Wednesday night's win over the Bobcats after he suffered a bad cut to his finger diving for a loose ball. He wasn't sure he'd be able to go Thursday night, so you'll want to check his status closer to game time.
• It hasn't been a great season for Suns swingman Jared Dudley, but he's playing better of late. He's averaging a little more than 12 points and two 3s in his past three games with some pretty hot shooting from the floor, and he's playing big minutes even coming off the bench. Dudley's not for everyone, but if you need 3s or are in a deep league, he's a pretty safe bet against a Dallas team playing poor defense so far this season and playing for the second time in two nights.
Fastbreak Player of the Night
Last year in three games against the Mavericks, Goran Dragic averaged 20.3 points, 8.3 assists, 2.3 steals and shot 54 percent from the floor. He's yet to face them this time around, but I think he's going to have a huge night for the Suns when he faces them Thursday. Obviously, LeBron James and Anthony should put up bigger overall numbers, but Dragic might surprise you.
