Three weeks are in the books, and several Big Ten teams have completed their nonconference seasons. What does that tell us in regard to the still ridiculously early bowl projections?
Well, we know the East Division is a monster. Ohio State routed Oklahoma on the road. Michigan State won impressively at Notre Dame, despite some late-game hiccups. Michigan keeps cruising. The battle for the division title is going to be epic, but we have to give the edge to the Buckeyes right now with the way they're playing.
As for the West? Well, Nebraska suddenly looks like a very strong title contender after beating Oregon to get to 3-0. Wisconsin still has that difficult schedule to wade through. Iowa isn't going to fade away despite its loss to North Dakota State.
No one dropped out or moved in after Saturday's results, but there was some movement in the pecking order. Remember that diversity in locations is a priority for the league. Here are our latest projections:
College Football Playoff: Ohio State
Rose Bowl Game presented by Northwestern Mutual: Michigan
Capital One Orange Bowl: Michigan State
Outback Bowl: Nebraska
Holiday Bowl: Iowa
Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl: Wisconsin
New Era Pinstripe Bowl: Minnesota
Foster Farms Bowl: Penn State
Quick Lane Bowl: Indiana
Heart of Dallas Bowl: Maryland
