ESPNU 150 Watch List WR
Devon Allen (Phoenix/Brophy Prep) is sitting on three offers at the moment and will visit one of his favorites in a couple of weeks.Allen is an explosive kid and one of the state's top sprinters as well as a talented football player. He clocked a 10.83 100-meter dash as a sophomore a year ago and will look to double sport in college. On the year, the receiver has caught 18 balls for 426 yards and eight touchdowns for one of the state's premier programs."I currently have offers from Stanford, Colorado State and just got one from Duke [on Monday]," Allen said. "I'm going to visit Stanford in two weeks and I'm really excited to check them out. I want to make sure they'll let me do track but they have a history of letting their players double sport there so I think it will be cool."I'm not hearing as much from the local schools but Arizona State just talked to me recently and said they can get me tickets to all their home games from now on. I would have loved to been there for their game with USC last weekend but I'll definitely be at a few game later this season."As a sophomore, Allen caught 60 balls for 915 yards and six touchdowns.
New offer for CravensStandout junior linebacker Sua Cravens (Murrieta, Calif./Vista Murrieta) picked up another offer from one of the hottest programs out West. "Arizona State just offered me," Cravens said. "That's a big offer because they recruit my area really hard and I just watched them smack around USC and they looked really good. The Centennial (Corona, Calif.) players looked really good. Vontaze Burfict had a great game and Shelly Lyons took a pick to the house. It seems like half of ASU's roster is from Centennial but they have a great program for sure."Vista Murrieta, 3-0 on the season, has a huge game this weekend against undefeated Crespi (Encino, Calif.). "They killed us through the air last year," Cravens said. "They beat us 45-31 and they have a lot of great athletes coming back. They have a great receiver in
Chris Harper and two good running backs.
Jordan Simmons is a beast and they have talent all over the field."I think our defense is better than last year but we miss
Derrick Brown (Washington freshman) on offense. We need our offense to step up and the defense obviously needs to do the same. It should be a great game for sure."
That didn't take longHigh profile transfer
Lucas Falk, an ESPNU 150 Watch List member, has decided to transfer from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian. Falk played at Logan (Utah) last season and moved this past summer to Westlake. Falk started the team's first two games but was replaced for the Lions matchup against Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure last week. In two games, Falk had completed 27-53 passes for 317 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions. The family told the Salt Lake Tribune the decision to move back to Logan was personal, not football related.Logan, one of the state's top programs, is led by D.J Nelson, a Utah State commit, at quarterback this season but Falk is not likely to regain his eligibility until next fall anyway. The two split time a year ago which some feel was a reason why Falk transferred in the first place.
