Despite an early commitment to SMU, Culver City (Calif.) linebacker Khalil Pettway will take his official visits and just picked up his second Pac-12 offer on Thursday.Pettway is off to a 2-0 start and Pettway has 23 tackles and a sack while playing all three linebacker positions for the team."We're doing well but I need to step up my game," Pettway said. "I'm not satisfied and feel like I haven't done anything yet. As a team, we just need to keep building and I'm trying to do the same as well from a personal level."Along with the Mustangs, Pettway has also been offered by Washington State, North Carolina State and West Virginia and just landed an offer from Arizona Thursday."I'm very excited about the Arizona offer," Pettway said. "I have a lot of interest in them and I'm going to try and set up an official visit real soon here. I'm trying to set up a visit to NC State for next weekend. I just need to call the coach back and get that locked in but that's the only visit I have so far."My commitment to SMU is still strong but I'm still looking around, just to make sure it's the right place for me. You never know if another school will blow you off your feet so you kind of owe to yourself to check out all your options. Right now, I'm looking at all those schools that have offered me and Arizona State is also recruiting me but just hasn't offered yet."Utah lands sleeper LBLinebacker Jake Jackson (Carlsbad, Calif./La Costa Canyon) had an offer from Utah on the table since the summer and on Thursday, he decided to jump on it."It was cool, I got to tell Coach [Dave] Schramm in person when he came down for our practice," Jackson said. "Utah is just a great fit and I have a ton of family there. There is a strong comfort level for me at Utah. I'm Mormon so there is a great support system in place for me and the fact that the school is in the Pac-12 is just an added bonus."Jackson also starts at tight end and had a solid junior season on offense catching 31 balls for 424 yards and four touchdowns."They want me to play outside linebacker," Jackson said. "I'm comfortable on either side of the ball but really like defense. I'll be in Utah for summer workouts but I'll be leaving for my mission in the fall so I won't actually enroll in classes for two more years. I'm still looking forward to it though and I'll be ready to go for sure."More interest for ThomasFollowing his official visit to UCLA and offer from the Bruins, interest has picked up for wide receiver Michael Thomas (Elk Grove, Calif./Cosumnes Oaks).Thomas officially visited UCLA last weekend and with an offer from the Bruins, they definitely look like the team to beat. As often happens in recruiting, once one program offers, others will soon follow and that has happened for the receiver."Right after the visit, Arizona, Arizona State and UNLV all called the house," Thomas' father Michael Sr. said. "They're showing strong interest and just last night, Idaho offered. It's a very exciting time for us for sure. Right now, Michael may be a late bloomer but I think in four years, he could be one of the best in the country."
