• Big recruiting weekend for Arizona State

Arizona State has a huge recruiting weekend coming up and one player on hand will be offensive lineman Cedrick Poutasi (Las Vegas, Nev./Desert Pines). Poutasi was originally scheduled to take his first official visit earlier in the month to Oregon but decided to take the ACT that weekend instead. "I heard Tempe is a fun place and I'm really excited to check it out," Poutasi said. "ASU has been recruiting me hard for a while and I always had some interest but lately, it has picked up for sure. I like the team a lot and I like their style of play, they're very aggressive on both sides of the ball."I'm interested in learning more about the school, not just the football program. I want to know about the academics and how I would fit in there with the players and coaches. They're playing USC so it should be an exciting game and a great atmosphere."Poutasi said the visit to ASU will be the only trip he takes during the season."This is the only open weekend I had," Poutasi said. "UCLA and Utah are still probably my top schools and I'll visit both for sure after the season. I plan to take all five if I can but I'm not sure about the last two right now."Another visitor to Tempe this weekend will be USC commit Jabari Ruffin (Downey, Calif./Downey). Downey (1-2) has struggled a bit to get things going this season, but Ruffin has been a stand out on both sides of the ball showing why he's one of the most versatile players in the region. He has rushed for 192 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries, caught 13 passes for 191 yards and another score and leads the team with 31 tackles on the defensive side of the ball."It has been a frustrating season so far," Ruffin said. "We should be better right now, 1-2 doesn't cut it. I'm trying to lead but we need to get better and hopefully we can turn things around soon."As for this weekend, I'm looking forward to the visit. Me, Scott [Starr] and Bryce [Treggs] all talked about taking a visit together and the fact that ASU is playing USC made it a perfect weekend to visit. I wanted to do some trips but this might be it. ASU is the only school talking to me other than USC of course. I think everyone knows how solid my commitment is so they don't want to waste their time on me I'm assuming."
