Four-star WR
Bryce Treggs (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco) is a strong Cal commitment but will still take his official visits. The talented receiver will take his first trip this coming weekend.Treggs committed to Cal after narrowing his list to also include Notre Dame and UCLA. He has a trip planned to see the Irish (Oct. 22) and will stay in the Pac-12 this weekend."I'm going to visit Arizona State," Treggs said. "They're having a lot of recruits in town for the SC game so it should be cool. I think
Scott Starr (Norco, Calif.) and
Jabari Ruffin (Downey, Calif.) will be coming too so it should be a lot of fun."The Notre Dame game will be against USC too. That's a great rivalry and that's their big recruiting weekend. They'll have recruits from all over taking a visit that weekend so I'm really looking forward to it. I might take a few more trips too but nothing is set in stone yet and I'm still trying to figure that out."Treggs said he hasn't been up to Berkeley to watch a Cal game yet this year but is hoping to do so in the near future."I'll get out there for sure very soon," Treggs said. "I'm still 100 percent committed to Cal. I love the school. I'm just taking the visits because it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. It's a chance to see some schools up close and just experience the recruiting process a little more."Treggs is off to a strong start in his senior season. In three games, all wins for the Braves, Treggs has 19 catches for 330 yards and three touchdowns. He's also playing full time at corner and the Braves' secondary has allowed just 41 passing yards a game thus far.
Bafaro checks out hometown schoolLinebacker
Brett Bafaro (Hillsboro, Ore./Liberty) took an official visit to Oregon this past weekend. The Ducks have been leading for some time and still appear to be in a good spot for the talented athlete.Bafaro gave serious thought to committing to the Ducks over the summer, but he decided to back off that stance and go through the process a bit more."I just didn't want to rush in to anything," Bafaro said. "At first, I was worried when the news broke out about possible sanctions and such. Then I talked with the coaches and everything was cool but I still decided I wanted to wait things and take my time."I took an official visit last weekend and had a good time. I've been up to Oregon several times in the past but it was still cool to be there on an official visit and spent more time with the players and coaches. I got to bond more with the guys, eat a ton of food and watch a great game they pretty much dominated. Overall, it was a real good experience and I'm still very high on Oregon."High enough to possibly pull the trigger and commit?"I'm not ready to commit anywhere just yet," Bafaro said. "I still want to look around a little bit more and make sure I'm doing the right thing. This is a huge decision for me and I don't want to rush things. I'm high on Boise State and Washington too and there are a few other schools that could offer me so I'm just taking my time and will commit when I feel I'm ready."
