Michael Thomas (Elk Grove, Calif./Cosumnes Oaks) took an official visit to UCLA over the weekend and as expected, picked up an offer from the Bruins. Is the emerging receiver close to jumping on it?Thomas is a late-bloomer who the Bruins just started to recruit with more earnest in the last month or so. UCLA went out, saw him play in a game two weeks ago and offered an official visit for this past weekend."It was a great experience," Thomas said. "UCLA is an incredible place and they have some legendary athletes attend the school there. The highlight of the visit for me had to be walking into the hall of fame with Coach [Rick] Neuheisel and just seeing how many great former Bruins are out there."UCLA offers so many great academic opportunities as well. The campus is incredible and Westwood is a great area as well. Will Oliver and Torian White were my hosts on the visit and they were both very good guys. When Coach Neuheisel was giving me a tour of the campus, that was when he offered me a scholarship and I was really excited about that. I'm definitely going to think hard about UCLA but I didn't want to make an emotional decision on the visit."Both of Thomas' parents accompanied him on the visit as well and Thomas said the plan is to sit down and talk with them about whether to make an early decision or not."They felt the same way I did about UCLA, they loved it there," Thomas said. "We're going to discuss the trip and there's definitely a chance I could commit soon. UCLA is a great school for sure but I also know it's a long way until signing day and there are some other schools interested in me as well so that's what we need to talk about. "This offer could definitely lead to other schools offering and I want to keep my options open but I also really like UCLA so like I said, we'll sit down and figure out what the best move for me is going forward."Thomas' cousin and Boise State commit
Marcus Rios was also on an official visit to UCLA. According to Rios' father, Richard, the family was treated great and had a great time in Westwood but his commitment to the Broncos is still rock solid.
