San Clemente (Calif.) offensive lineman Kyle Murphy took his first official visit of the year this past weekend to Oregon. It was the second time Murphy has visited the Ducks campus after taking an unofficial trip back in April.Murphy attended the Ducks junior day back in the spring and the Ducks have been one of his top choices for the last year. He officially visited Eugene last weekend and the lineman said Oregon will be in it until the very end."I had a great time, I really liked it up there," Murphy said. "The game atmosphere was the highlight of the visit for me. It was definitely loud and crazy in the stadium and it was probably the loudest game I've ever been to."People are so passionate about Oregon football. It's like the biggest game in town so the whole city and beyond really supports it. The guys on the team were all really cool and I felt very comfortable with everyone I met. Tyler Johnstone, who played in Arizona, was my host and he's a good guy and we got along well. Overall, it was a great trip and was definitely a big positive for me."Murphy, who brought along both of his parents to Oregon, said he also enjoyed talking with the Ducks coaches and getting to know them better."Coach [Steve] Greatwood has been recruiting for a while and it was nice to spend some time with him," Murphy said. "The Oregon offensive line is fast and athletic and I think I would fit in well there. I still plan to take the rest of my trips and Florida will be next in early November. I'm still trying to figure out the rest of my final five right now."Two schools expected to make Murphy's final list are Stanford and USC, which along with the Ducks, appear to be the teams to beat at the moment.San Jose State leads for SoCal QBTyler Stewart (Chatsworth, Calif./Sierra Canyon) is off to a fast start this season and is hearing from four schools at the moment. In two games, Stewart has completed 23 of 35 passes for 434 yards and six touchdowns, while sitting out the second half of both games due to blowouts. "So far, I've gotten calls this month from San Jose State, Bowling Green, Nevada and UCLA," Stewart said. "San Jose State and Bowling Green have offered and Nevada and UCLA have seen my first two games and both said they want to see me in person before they offer."Right now, I don't think I'll be able to take any visits during the season because we play a lot of Saturday games. I'm planning to take my time and let the process play out and take it's course. Right now, I'm just focusing on my high school team, since that is all I can control. San Jose State is at the top of my list though, I like them a lot. I was excited when they offered and they have been recruiting me very hard since the summer."
