Oregon State picked up a commitment from linebacker
Joel Skotte (Bend, Ore./Mountain View), who picked the in-state Beavers over Boise State and Air Force."Oregon State just felt like home to me, it's where my heart was at," said Skotte, who is expected to play middle linebacker for the Beavers. "I have a brother and sister who live in Corvallis and I really like the coaching staff a lot. I just love the program and specifically, the values of Coach [Riley] and the other coaches on the staff."Coach Riley has really built a strong program at Oregon State and I just couldn't see myself anywhere else. Plus Oregon State has always been kind of a dream school for me and I'm very excited about my decision and it feels great to be a Beaver."It wasn't too long ago that Skotte was planning to go through the recruiting process and take his official visits before making his decision."I thought and prayed hard about it," Skotte said. "I decided that I really didn't need to take any other visits, I knew what I wanted to do and my mind was made up. Oregon State was the place for me and like I said, I'm just excited to have this decision out of the way and thrilled to call myself a Beaver."Along with Boise State and Air Force, Skotte was also offered by Washington State, Idaho, San Diego State and Portland State.
