Lakewood (Calif.) receiver Darius Powe has set up his first official visit and has dropped one school from his previous top five.Powe is one of the top receivers in the west region and will likely take all his official visits before he makes his college choice. His first visit will be to Big Ten country."I'm going to Michigan (Sept. 9)," said Powe, who is the No. 85 overall player in the 2012 class. "They play Notre Dame that weekend so it should be a great atmosphere and I'm really looking forward to it. I like the depth chart at Michigan and I think if I went there, there's a good chance I could play early and that's what I'm looking to do."Powe said there are three other schools high on his list and he's hoping to set up official visits with each during the season as well."I'm also looking at UCLA, Oregon State and Utah," Powe said. "I was pretty high on Miami too but I think they might be getting in to some trouble so I'm not really looking at them right now. I'm looking to add another school to visit so I'll have five on my list but I'm not sure who right now."I still like Cal and they're recruiting me pretty good. Of all the schools on my list, I would say UCLA is recruiting me the hardest and then Oregon State. I don't have a leader right now and that's why I want to take all these visits. Then I should be ready to make my commitment at the Under Armour game in January."Fanaika to visit Stanford, UCLAOffensive lineman Brandon Fanaika (Pleasant Grove, Utah) hasn't set up any of his official visits yet but said two Pac-12 schools are definitely in line for trips at the end of the season.Fanaika, the top offensive lineman in the state and one of the elite guard prospects in the West, will have a tough decision to make in regards to his recruitment. Does he want to stay close to home and play for local favorites BYU and Utah, or leave the area to play his college ball?"I have some really good options and I'm still trying to sort through everything," Fanaika said. "Two official visits I know I want to take are to Stanford and UCLA. I want to wait until after our season is over before I take any visits so I can just focus on my team but those are two schools I like a lot."As for BYU and Utah, both are great schools and I've visited both unofficially a few times already. I'll probably just visit one of the in-state schools officially and then take the rest to out of state schools since it's harder to get to those. I like Arizona State, Arizona and Washington too and they have all offered so it's going to be a really tough decision for me."McDaniel sets first visitAthlete Ryan McDaniel (North Torrance, Calif.) is focusing on four schools right now and recently set up an official visit to his current leader.McDaniel is a talented running back and linebacker and is getting looks at both positions right now. He's looking at four Pac-12 schools at the moment, two local and two from out of state."Arizona State is my leader right now," McDaniel said. "I also like Washington, USC and UCLA, those are the main four I'm looking at and I'm not really going to check out anyone else other than those four."We have a bye the weekend of Oct. 1 and I'm going to visit ASU that weekend. They play Oregon State and it should be a really good game. I'm close to setting a visit with Washington too and that will also be sometime during the season."With UCLA and USC, I'll probably just do an unofficial visit there since it's so close to home and I've already visited both several times. Right now, I'm kind of looking at leaving the area and that's why ASU and Washington are on top. Plus they're both really good schools and I have a good relationship with the coaching staffs at each school."
