San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) J Serra isn't known for producing a lot of high profile college prospects, at least in football. That will change this year as athlete
Jonavaughn Williams is a major player and has offers from almost half the Pac-12.Williams plays both receiver and safety and is getting looks on both sides of the ball. He has always preferred offense but is now open to play any position in college."I'll play wherever they want me to play," Williams said. "I'm not here to tell a college coach where to play me. That's probably a good way to find myself on the bench. I like receiver a lot. I like scoring touchdowns, but I like making interceptions and hitting people, too, so I'm comfortable at either spot."Arizona was the most recent school to offer Williams, joining earlier offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon State, Washington, San Diego State and Duke."I like the West Coast schools the most," Williams said. "I like Duke a lot, too. It's a great school but it's kind of far and I think I want to stay closer to home. My plan is to take all five of my official visits, and I don't have any dates set yet, but I know I'll for sure be going to Oregon State."I already took an unofficial visit there and really liked it. I checked out Oregon, too, and I like them, but I'm not hearing as much from them. The schools recruiting me the hardest are Arizona State, Colorado, San Diego State and Oregon State. UofA just jumped in there, and I like them a lot, too. Washington has kind of backed off, and I think they may have filled up at my position because I know they have a lot of commitments already."
