Oregon State continued its strong early recruiting run by picking up a commitment from sleeper offensive lineman
Chase Eldredge (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif./Palos Verdes) on Wednesday.Eldredge camped with Oregon State back in June and was offered a scholarship a few days later. "I'm very excited about my decision," said Eldredge. "My plan all along was to try and have my decision out of the way before school started back up. Oregon State was my leader all summer and after talking things over with my family, I decided the time was right for me to pull the trigger."I really like the coaching staff at Oregon State. All the coaches were great when I was there and I have a really good relationship with Coach [Mike] Cavanaugh, the offensive line coach. The campus is pretty cool too and I just felt comfortable and that was the most important thing to me."His father, Dirk Eldredge, is a special consultant and life coach for the Seattle Seahawks and having family close by was another added bonus."Having my dad right there was definitely a big plus," Eldredge said. "Not only having him close but the fact that he knows Pete Carroll so well and Coach Carroll really has a lot of respect for Coach [Mike] Riley. This was my decision but it definitely didn't hurt that everyone you talk with really respects Coach Riley and there's not a lot of coaches out there you can say that about."
