It has been a whirlwind recruitment for quarterback
Matt Morin (Temecula, Calif./Chaparral). Morin nearly committed to Arizona State a few months back but will now play his college ball in the Mountain West after announcing for San Diego State on Saturday. After taking an unofficial visit to ASU in early June, Morin was all set to commit to the Sun Devils. In fact, Morin had a scheduled call with the ASU coaches where he planned to commit when a last minute phone conversation with UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel and subsequent visit to Westwood caused Morin to hold off making his commitment. Unfortunately for Morin, while he waited, the Sun Devils took a commitment from another quarterback,
T.J Millweard (Fort Worth, Texas./St. Episcopal) and his offer was no longer on the table."Everything worked out the way it was supposed to," Morin said. "I committed to San Diego State on Saturday and I'm thrilled with my decision. I took a visit to the school Saturday morning and just fell in love with the place. I'm pumped up about it and I can't think of a better fit for me."The coaching staff is incredible and I really like the direction the team is going. Coach [Brian] Sipe and Coach [Andy] Ludwig are awesome and I really like Coach [Rocky] Long a lot too and I think he's perfect to keep the team going in the right direction. I was planning to go through the process and see what schools offered during the season. I'm pretty sure UCLA and USC were going to offer during my season, but I saw all I needed to see on my visit and I'm excited to be an Aztec."
